Car fires: Arson squad investigating two incidents from Saturday night

The Montreal police department’s arson squad is investigating two separate incidents in which a total of three cars were found on fire Saturday night.

A 911 call was made around 10:30 p.m. concerning a car on fire in the Saint-Léonard borough.

Fire fighters subdued the blaze, which resulted in serious damage to the vehicle but no injuries.

Police spokesperson Véronique Comtois said the investigation was transferred to the arson squad and the car was towed away to examined.

Near midnight, multiple calls were made to 911 about two cars on fire on 25th Ave. in the Villeray–Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension borough.

The blaze was once again extinguished and the investigation was transferred to the arson squad.
